We are a growing, dynamic People team who are passionate about placing the employee experience at the heart of everything we do at Ridge and creating a culture where people can thrive and do their best work.

Whilst we are advertising this role for our Solihull office, you could equally be based in our Plymouth or Oxford offices, as our team is co-located around the UK.

Reporting into the Learning & Development Lead, as a Talent Development Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering technical learning at Ridge. Working closely with the wider Talent Development team, you will support our people with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to succeed—particularly in navigating chartership pathways, using key systems and tools, and developing their technical capabilities.

This role will have a strong focus on:

  • Supporting chartership and professional qualification training such as CPDs across our disciplines.
  • Developing and delivering technical training on our systems and platforms, such as Workspace.
  • Creating high-quality learning content for our Learning Management System (LMS), ‘Empower’, ensuring learning is accessible, engaging, and aligned to business needs.

This is a highly collaborative role where you will work closely with internal subject matter experts, system owners, and professional bodies to ensure our people have clear, supported routes to develop their technical skills and gain professional accreditation.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape technical learning at Ridge. You’ll join a growing, purpose-driven People Team dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. You’ll play a key role in helping our people thrive—through great systems, clear career pathways, and high-impact learning experiences.

What you need to do to be effective in this role

  • Support chartership and professional development at Ridge by helping to build and deliver structured learning pathways, guidance, and training aligned to key institutions (e.g. RICS, ICE, RIBA).
  • Coordinate and deliver training for Workspace and other core technical systems, helping teams adopt tools and work more effectively across the project lifecycle.
  • Design, develop and maintain digital learning content for Empower LMS, including e-learning modules, videos, user guides, checklists, and interactive tools to support both systems training and technical development.
  • Work with subject matter experts to translate technical content into practical, accessible training.
  • Facilitate engaging live training sessions (both in-person and virtually), tailored to learner needs and experience levels.
  • Support ongoing CPD by developing and promoting relevant technical learning opportunities across disciplines.
  • Gather feedback and track learning outcomes, using data and insights to refine and improve content and delivery.
  • Stay up to date with updates to key systems, qualifications, and training best practices, ensuring our learning offer remains current and impactful.
  • Champion a learning culture, making it easy and motivating for people to engage with technical development.

The skills and experience you need to have for this role

You'll be passionate about helping people grow in their careers and someone who enjoys making complex information into simple, practical, and engaging learning. You should be naturally collaborative, tech-savvy, and comfortable working across diverse disciplines. While previous experience in the built environment - particularly in supporting training on platforms like Workspace or other technical systems - is advantageous, the following skills are essential for success in this role:

  • Experience designing and delivering technical training
  • Familiarity with chartership/professional qualification pathways in disciplines such as Engineering, Architecture, or Surveying.
  • Confidence in delivering engaging training sessions both virtually and in person.
  • Willingness to travel across our offices to deliver training and engage with key stakeholders.
  • Skilled at developing digital learning content (e.g., e-learning, videos, guides, microlearning).
  • Experience using or supporting LMS platforms—including content upload, management, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple training projects and priorities.
