Ridge and Partners is a growing, multi-discipline built environment consultancy helping clients create better more sustainable places for people to live, learn, work and play.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an Assistant Social Value Bid Writer to join our busy Social Value Team. This role will ideally suit an early-career professional with experience of supporting the writing of bids, case studies or formal reports and with an interest in social value, ESG and/or sustainability issues.

The successful candidate will provide support to our Social Value Copywriter and Social Value Project Consultants in the creation of top-scoring responses to social value questions within bids. They are likely to be a talented writer and team player with a desire to make a difference influential collaborator with the ability to lead on major opportunities, guide technical teams, and bring structure and consistency to high-value submissions.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare and write structured and persuasive responses to social value questions within bids.
  • Review ITTs
  • Support our small team of Social Value Project Consultants with the drafting of social value programme proposals in line with client priorities and researched community needs.
  • Use our social value platform to create impact forecasts for bids.
  • Assist with research and information gathering to inform bid responses from a wide range of sources. writing from scratch or editing material as appropriate.
  • Support the writing of case studies and examples of our social value delivery. Create and update project experience, case studies and testimonials that demonstrate past success and expertise.
  • Proofread and edit bid and case study content to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance, as well as correct style and grammar.
  • Assist with review of feedback on bid success or failure and suggest improvements for future social value responses and proposals.

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience of bid, case study or report writing.
  • A passion for writing and a flair for communication of complex ideas.
  • Exemplar writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Strong relationship building and team-working skills.
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Understanding/experience of social value delivery in the context of construction, engineering or related sectors would be advantageous.

Qualifications and Tools

  • Microsoft Office proficiency – Word, Excel, Powerpoint (required)
  • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and graphic design processes (desirable)
